Uchenna Daniel Chukwuemeka, popularly known as Chesky, is a fast-rising artist from Awka in the Eastern part of Nigeria.Chesky was born (11 November) in Surulere, Lagos State, and grew up in an area called Ajangbadi, where he worked in Alaba International Market at the age of 12.Chesky was raised by his dad, who died on (18 August 2024). He lost his mom after birth and was raised by only his dad.In 2015, Chesky and his dad traveled back to their hometown, where he started hairstyling. He gained customers from different parts of the East, including Enugu State, Imo State, and Anambra State. However, that was not his dream—he had always dreamed of bigger pictures.On (28 February 2017), Chesky had an accident at school during Inter-House Sports, where he broke his bone. He was admitted to an orthopedic hospital, but after one month, the injury seemed to be worse. When he reached the principal, he had to act quickly and take Chesky to another hospital in Ebenebe. Chesky stayed there from April to July, where he began recovering.In (April 2017), Chesky start writting music in the hospital where he was admitted. He continued singing because every moment at the hospital felt very lonely. That experience made him fall in love with music, and he continued writing more songs down.In 2018, Chesky became part of an upcoming artists’ group from his hometown. They came up with the name “Razzybois”—the group was formed by his friend and had three members. Together, they released their first single titled “Promise Land” in December 2019. However, due to lack of capital, they did not publish the song. They shared the music with friends via Bluetooth, and the song came out to be a nice track—people talked about it and vibed to it.On (January 1st, 2020), Chesky and his group were called for a show in Enugu State, where they performed “Promise Land” together.Due to lack of money to go to the studio, things became difficult, and insecurities grew in the group. Chesky then left the group and continued his hairstyling work.In 2021, Chesky’s dad’s sickness became worse, and his siblings had to return to take their dad to Lagos for proper treatment. Since then, Chesky survived by working as a hairstylist. He relocated to Oji River, a prominent Local Government Area in Enugu State. The same year, 2021, Chesky had to relocate to Onitsha, where he started a new business and met new friends.In 2022, Chesky got an apartment in Awka, the capital of Anambra State, and began making arrangements for his music. He did not find a producer that fit his kind of sound until someone introduced him to a Music Producer known as “Chochobliz”. After hearing Chesky freestyle, Chochobliz quickly advised and encouraged Chesky to start pushing his music career, because he believed Chesky was very good in making music.During 2023, Chochobliz told Chesky that he had to release a song to test his sound. Chesky recorded two songs. His first single, “Imagination” (no featuring), was released on (29 June 2023). His second title, “All I Want”, was released on (30 June 2023). The songs quickly gained recognition. Following his small success, Chesky released an EP titled “FRAME & FLOWERS” on (18 August 2023), and people started contacting him privately for collabs.Chesky released a visual video for “Imagination” on (1 July 2023).In 2024, due to lack of industry understanding, Chesky had to take a break from his music career. He started following and listening to podcasts, music career coaches, music marketing coaches, artist development content, and more—so he could gain knowledge on how to grow his audience and stay relevant in the industry.Fast forward to 2026: Chesky developed his own sound—combining Afro-R&B, Afro-fusion, Afropop, and elements of Hip-Hop/Rap, creating melodies and rhythms that feel personal, like a story you can hear—not just a track to scroll past.Chesky released a single titled “HUNNID” on (2 June 2026)—a sound meant to motivate mindset and help to keep it “hundred.” The track “HUNNID” has become the people’s favourite and has started gaining recognition.Chesky also released another single titled “Skin Tone”—a love or party vibe song—which was released on (5 June 2026). Looking at his small success, Chesky promised himself that his sound will fly worldwide because he is different—and he has sworn to remain relevant in his career.
